# /remind

> DM yourself a note after a set time.

Saves a note now and DMs it to you later.

```text
/remind when: 30 minutes note: Join the voice call
```

> Got it! I will DM you in 30 minutes.

Thirty minutes later, in your DMs:

> ⏰ Reminder: Join the voice call

## Setup

Create a slash command and switch to **Advanced**.

| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Command Name | `remind` |
| Description | `Remind me about something` |

Under **Behavior**, turn on **Only the user sees the reply**.

**Arguments:**

| Type | Name | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Text | `when` | Yes | For example 10 minutes, 2 hours, 3 days |
| Text | `note` | Yes | What to remind you about |

## Code

**Pre-hook:**

```python
await schedule("send_dm", f"in {when}", data=f"⏰ Reminder: {note}")
set_content(f"Got it! I will DM you {timestamp(f'in {when}', 'R')}.")
```

Leave the **Content / Reply Message** box empty.

## Good to know

- `schedule` works on every plan. A free server can have **20** actions waiting at once. Paid plans get more. An action stops counting once it has run.
- Members with DMs turned off do not get the reminder. The [Reminders guide](https://ccbot.app/docs/guides/reminders) shows how to ping in the channel instead.
- If the bot cannot read `when`, the member sees *"Schedule time must be in the future"*.
